Overview AAA Indian Rosewood Classical Guitar Fingerboard:

Indian rosewood, scientifically known as dalbergia latifolia, is a highly sought-after hardwood known for its exceptional properties. Native to South Asia, this wood is of immense importance in luthiery.

The most notable property of Indian rosewood is its distinctive and beautiful grain. The wood has a rich reddish-brown color with darker streaks, giving it a pleasing visual appearance. It is also known for its ability to retain its vibrant color even after decades of use and exposure to sunlight.

In addition to its visual appeal, Indian rosewood possesses excellent acoustic qualities that make it highly prized in the musical instrument industry. Guitars, sitars and other stringed instruments made from Indian rosewood produce a warm, resonant sound. This wood is most commonly used in the mid-ranges of both classical and acustic guitars.

How is Indian Rosewood graded?

In the Indian rosewood fingerboards of AAA grade we will find perfectly sound and flawless pieces. Growth rings very close together and homogeneous, without big changes, and with a radial cut that will provide these pieces with a perfect structural rigidity.

Although in this species the variety of tones is very large, in the superior qualities -like this one- most of the pieces tend to be of dark tones, either brown, reddish or violet.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 470x70/60x9 mm
  • Botanical Name: Dalbergia latifolia
  • Origin: India
  • Density: 900 Kg/m3
