E-13 Mahogany Internal Reinforcement 400x12x6/1 mm

The Mahogany Internal Reinforcement E-13 is designed to reinforce the joint between the back and the sides, especially in the construction of mandolins, although it can also be used in other stringed instruments.

It is made of mahogany, a stable, lightweight, and easy-to-work wood, with a stepped profile from 6 mm to 1 mm, making it easy to fit to curved surfaces. Its shape helps improve structural stability and vibration transmission without adding unnecessary weight.

These internal reinforcements — also known as linings or kerfed linings — are essential to ensure a strong gluing surface between the sides and the back (or top), preventing deformation and enhancing the instrument’s resonance and tonal response.
