The barrel of the clarinet is the part that joins the mouthpiece to the upper joint of the clarinet. They are made in different sizes (between 64 and 67 mm) thus varying the tuning of the instrument. It is essential for tuning the clarinet and can be easily slid for this purpose.

Blackwood is an extremely dense African wood, extremely dark in color with purplish-brown tones. With a fine, straight grain and often unnoticeable pores, it is very easy to obtain an extremely shiny piece without much effort.
