White Pearloid Celluloid Binding 6x1.5mm

White pearloid celluloid binding for edge finishing and protection on guitars and other stringed instruments. With a cross-section of 6 × 1.5mm and a length of 1,650mm, it fits the standard binding channel of most guitars. The pearloid finish provides a characteristic mother-of-pearl effect that complements light hardware and finishes.

Celluloid is the traditional material for plastic binding in lutherie. It bends easily with gentle heat — a hair dryer or heat gun held at a distance —. Once warm and pliable, it is shaped to follow the curve of the body and regains its rigidity as it cools. It is compatible with plastic adhesives formulated for celluloid such as UHU Allplast, which bonds it to the wood and fuses the ends through a cold bond. On thin profiles, a thin coat is recommended.
