Overview Tenor Joint Mopane Asturian Bagpipe 230x37x37 mm:

In Maderas Barber we have available all the necessary sizes to build your Galician bagpipe. Pieces of this dimension can be used to build the Tenor Joint on an Asturian bagpipe.

Mopane is a wood native to southern Africa, extremely dense and with an interlocked grain. It is very hard and tends to quickly dull the cutting edge of the tools that work it. But it turns extremely well, has a great natural luster due to its oils and, like all the woods we offer for wind instruments, it has excellent qualities for that purpose: resistance to rot and insect attack, brilliant acoustic response, visual appeal... In short, we could consider it an economical alternative to blackwood, the main difference between them being the color.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 230x37x37 mm
  • Botanical name: Colophospermum mopane
  • Origin: Southern Africa
  • Density: 1075 Kg/m3
