Overview Pau Rosa Acoustic Guitar Backs:

We know you're always on the lookout for unique looking woods, here's one for you, Pau Rosa. Our Pau Rosa Classical Guitar Backs are one of the many wood options we have for you at Maderas Barber.

Pau Rosa wood is an African wood very similar to the Mexican granadillo without ever having the brown tones of the former. It also has, like granadillo, small healthy knots throughout its surface. These knots do not present any problem when worked, on the contrary, they give each piece a very particular and unique aesthetic. Palo Rosa gets its name from its color, which generally ranges across the spectrum of pinks, with shades of orange and even small traces of black.

It is a very hard and lustrous wood, requiring not much work to obtain a glossy finish with just a scraper or planer. However, due to its open pore it is essential to use a pore filler. All these qualities combined with its economical price make it an excellent alternative when designing your next instrument.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 550x215x4,5mm
  • Botanical Name: Swartzia fistuloides
  • Origin: Mozambique
  • Density: 1100 Kg/m3
