The Swamp Ash Unfinished Electric Bass Body Precision Style MB Exclusive is made in Spain and it is a faithful recreation of the legendary Fenderâ„¢ Precisionâ„¢ model. This body has been pre-routed with the usual split coil pickup configuration and is designed to use a 5-screw bridge.
The body of this bass has all the necessary routings for the electronics and hardware. The holes for the neck and bridge screws have already been drilled.
Finished with 120 grit sandpaper. The body has been sanded to remove the most obvious marks from the cutting and routing process, but it will always be necessary to sand with finer grit sandpaper before any finishing.
Ash is, next to alder, the wood most commonly used by Fenderâ„¢ for their bass bodies. Many instruments used by great bass players have been built with ash. In ash the sapwood colour is white and the heartwood colour is light brown, although it can also be cream or very light brown. The grain is straight and the porosity of the grain makes it necessary to use a lot of grain filler. Gluing and finishing are not a problem, but it is common for tools to become blunt during machining.
