Percussion

The percussion instrument is a type of musical instrument whose sound originates from being hit or shaken. It is probably the oldest form of musical instrument.

Percussion is differentiated by the variety of timbres that is capable of producing and by its ease of adaptation with other musical instruments. It should be noted that a wide variety of sounds can be obtained depending on sticks or mallets used to hit some of the percussion instruments.

A percussion instrument can be used to create rhythm patterns (drums, tam-tam among others) or to emit musical notes (xylophone). It usually accompanies others in order to create and maintain the rhythm. Some of the most famous percussion instruments are the drum and the battery.

In Maderas Barber we offer woods with special acoustics for the manufacture of these instruments, always of the best quality and beauty.
