Sides

Viola sides are maple pieces that are part of the soundboard, giving the shape to the instrument; these pieces are a fundamental part of the sound transmission because they are in charge, together with the backs, to reflect the lowest sounds produced by the viola.

The most used wood in the manufacture of these instruments is the curly maple because its flamed grain has been very coveted and valued by the luthiers and the musicians, it is a wood that in addition to its great beauty has some optimal properties to transmit a perfect acoustic.

In Maderas Barber we have sides in blocks of 12 mm of thickness from which can be obtain the different leaves that conform the set of sides.
