SCIENTIFIC NAME: Betula pendula

ORIGIN: Europe

DESCRIPTION: It has a density of 640-670 Kg/m3. It has black grains due to the fungus that penetrates the wet wood but this process is interrupted once the wood is dried. This wood contains natural waxes that make this wood waterproof.

RECOMMENDATIONS: It presents resistance to bending under natural drying conditions with a medium hardness.

USE: It is ideal for lathe and carving as well to make knife handles.
